A three-kilo-baby is literally a bundle of joy for Israeli gay couple Omer and Yonatan Gher. The couple had a baby through invitro fertilisation in a Mumbai-based clinic.
The baby has raised a fresh lease of hope for the Israeli couple and they can hardly hold back their sense of pride.
The couple’s courageous step comes at a time when India is debating the validity of Section 377 and several gay rights activists have been lobbying to scrap this outdated legislation.
Fertility Specialist Dr Gautam Allahabadia says, “The sequel to Dostana will probably start with the children of such families.”
After a painstaking and careful selection of the egg donor, Omer and Yonatan shortlisted only those who scored high on IQ. The cuddly baby Evyatar has celebrated the completion of one month of his birth.
It was a bold move by the Israeli gay couple to let the world see their IVF baby, but will this signal a way forward for same sex couples in India who have been rallying hard to secure their rights?
Dr Gautam Allahabadia says, “Once the law is repealed in India, it will be interesting to see how many Indian gay couples will come forward.”
Though the couple is from a relatively orthodox country, their decision to have a family will give hope to other gay couples worldwide. Omer and Yonatan are back in Tel Aviv and are set for their innings in parenthood.

Becoming parents is not easy. This brings a lot of responsibilities. If your man is scared to become a father, it will not be a simple task telling him that you are pregnant. A good idea would be to buy some girl baby bedding. Show them to him before giving the big news. This will be a very emotional moment.
If you are not sure yet that your baby will be a girl, you should also pick from the bedding collections something for boys. Tell your man that if he is going to have a boy he will have a football partner. For a man this is the best thing they can imagine.
If your husband is scared, you should not get to the conclusion that his love for you is not strong enough. He can be a perfect father. It’s important that you assure him of that. May be he is just scared that he will not be able to offer him the best. A summer baby monitor will help you both feel better. You can check on the baby all the time even when you are not in the room.

Parents sacrifice a lot and endure great hardships in up-bringing their children. They are selfless in their love and can even lay their lives for the protection of their children. A spouse is a life time partner in your days of sunshine and rain.Brothers and sisters are your friends and supporters. Your children are your life time fans who love you unconditionally. The love, care, and support of family is a great happiness. Blessed is the person who has got a family.And who amongst us has not got one? But we take family for granted. We don’t recognize it as a great source of happiness. The more happiness you give to your family the more you extract out of it.
You are born into a family and grow up within a family. A family not only provides comfort, enjoyment, and security, but it also gives emotional and spiritual bliss. In fact, one may find so much happiness within family that he or she may not need to search it outside it.The love and care of mother and father, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, wife or husband sustain us. Though love is one and the same yet the love of each is so different too. A family may extend beyond these immediate relations and may include grand parents, grand children, in-laws, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
Can all the money of the world buy the love and affection of one’s parents? Can one be happy without them?How much enjoyment and happiness they add to our life? Similar is the case with brothers and sisters. At a later stage of life husband or wife becomes practically the sole arbiter of our happiness.
