Is dating in some cities just better (e.g. NY, Philly, SF, LA, Boston) for those looking for a real relationship? Or is it still luck? Does it ever make sense to move because dating may be better somewhere else?

Personally, I say it just luck. I said that not from my experience. Right now I’m 24 years old and never involved in any relationship at all, either it’s real or fake. But I trust that no matter where you are if you found the right guy/girl, it’ll work out.

It doesn’t make sense at all if you moved up just to increase your dating’s probability. Be who you are, walk your own path.
