I&#039;m sorrry to say it, but I think there already IS a rule that those issued before1970 be updated. 		<description>That the old Green Cards did not have an expiration date was, in retrospect, an unfortunate oversight that has since been remedied.  So yes, your friend needs to get a new card.  Hers administratively expired via an official notification published in the US Federal Register.  If she has maintained her LPR status, she may replace her existing card with a card that must be renewed every 10 years.&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
