The church now is far better and does much more good, but the church back there was just pure evil. They were murderous, the caused great destruction and suffering. I blame them for what was wrong in that time. Henry viii, was the first english monarch to authorise the translation of the bible, from latin to english. The break from the catholic church was a big break through during the renaissance. I think that was one of the main things that influenced it. to make people think, hey wait a second, so i can choose not to be catholic. Had England not broken from the Catholic Church, it would have been at the mercy of the Holy Roman Empire and not its own entity unlike the rest of Europe. I was discussing the cultural significance and impact that the formation of the Church of England had, not claiming one denomination was superior to another.
