PostHeaderIcon UK Using More Dating Websites That Ever

Dating sites are used more and more throughout the UK, with recent reports suggesting the use of such sites is continuing to rise.
Comscore, an internet research company suggested that online dating had risen by 16% in the UK, and since the report came out a couple of months ago, it’s been suggested that that number has risen again.

It’s an interesting statistic considering the worldwide dating market is considered to have dropped, although it’s only by a tiny percentage.

So why is the use of online dating increasing in Britain if it’s dropping in the rest of thr world?? It could be that British people are generally less confident that other nationalities when it comes to talking to strangers. Alternatively, you could argue that they are more socially aware and therefore less inclined to talk to a stranger for fear of a socially awkward situation.

Or perhaps it’s down to the slight decline of online dating sites in the US. With the US market producing more competition and a dropping usage rate, many of the big dating companies (of which there are many) are putting more focus, effort and money into campaigns in the UK. If you live in the United Kingdom you can see this already, with a higher percentage of adverts for large American companies such as e-harmony.

Another reason could be the widespread use of the internet and social media in particular amongst young people in the UK. Meeting via the internet, social media or dating sites has become far more socially acceptable in the UK, and so the use of such sites has far less of a social stigma than in previous years.

The sheer variety of dating sites currently online could also be a reason for their increase in popularity. Whether you’re trying to find men seeking women, women seeking women, just friends or a casual relationship, you’ll more than likely be able to find a suitable site online.
