Conditional Green Card Expiration date vs K1 visa expire date?
My husband arrived on a K1 visa in Nov 2006 and received his conditional (2 year) green card in May 2007. Which date is used when filling for the permanent (10 year) resident card, you usually have 90 days from the expiration date, would it be the May date? But if his K1 visa expires in Nov., is he here legally?
90 days before the expiration date on his green card.
When Should I File the Form I-751?
1. Filing jointly. If you are filing this petition jointly with your spouse, you must file it during the 90 days immediately before the second anniversary of the date you were accorded conditional resident status. This is the date your conditional residence expires.

Can I apply for a job, then for my green card renewal when it’s going to expire in three months?
My green card expires in three months from now. I’m wondering if my card expires before I get it extended, can i still keep my job for like a couple of weeks until I get it extended or not. I’m afraid that I could lose my job on the date that my green card expires. Specially when i’m trying to get a second job.
Unless your greencard is a conditional greencard you are fine. While the greencard has an expiration date and needs to renewed every 10 years your status as a permanent resident does not expire. You are legal to stay and work even if your card expires. However, you would have problems traveling outside the country and whatever else you would need your greencard as a document, so you should renew it. You don’t have to wait for it to expire before you can renew it. You can do that up to 6 months before the card expires. So send your application in today…
