I’m perplexed by two assertions I find on YEC Christian websites. Could someone please explain these….?
….two claims which seem to me to be contradictory?
1) The websites deplore the tendency of modern science to rely upon UNIFORMATARIANISM and claim that the assumption of "steady rates of physical processes" is a false one — and often claim that some age-dating factor was "disturbed" by the impact of the Noahic Flood, for example.
2) Yet, when the websites give examples of "proofs" that the earth is only a few thousand years old (rather than billions) they cite lists of phenomenon which can be dated based on calculations involving a steady rate of some physical process (e.g. rate of rivers salinization of the oceans.)
So, these YEC claims seem mutually contradictory to me. SO WHAT AM I MISSING?
Is there some YEC Christian on R&S who can explain this and performs show how I have misunderstood the arguments?

Forget it. Logical consistency is not necessary when you can always fall back on "faith" as your explanation. What you are missing is that these arguments are not only mutually exclusive, they are not in any way consistent with scientific facts.

Never give out too much personal information at once. Remember that you have control over the information you share. Never tell someone the exact location of your home when you first meet him. You do not even have to share telephone numbers. Try sharing simple personality traits such as favorite hobbies, television shows, movies or books. Keep it simple. Create a separate email account for online dating. Keep it separate from anything having to do with your personal life until you get to know the other person better and you feel that you can trust her. One of the No. 1 tips of online dating is to always trust your instincts. If you ever begin to feel uncomfortable, that could be your clue to leave or to discontinue the relationship.
Red Flags
Keep an open mind, and remember your common sense. If the person seems to be vague with answers concerning personality traits, she could be married or in another relationship. If the other person wants upfront too much information, such as where you live or your phone number, definitely back off. Anybody wanting to know more about where you live could pose as a threat. Never share information about your money situation, and watch for those who ask too many questions concerning your financial status. Anybody who says he is broke could possibly turn into a leech. Those who call at odd hours, such as the middle of the night, could already have a family or another relationship.
Meeting
When meeting somebody online for the first time, it is best not to go alone. Always have a friend nearby keeping a close eye, just in case there could be trouble. Be sure to set your first few meetings in a public place. Let someone know where you will be and the time of day. You can never be too safe. Also, you could make your first time together a group date so you will be surrounded by friends to ensure your personal safety.
